The Early Childhood Division focuses on fun, musicality, coordination, and technique in the areas of ballet, tap and jazz. Classes are presented in a positive, fun atmosphere with kid-friendly music. Goals are to promote self-confidence, develop self-discipline and establish a solid foundation if they desire to continue with more advanced training. Students are encouraged to develop skills at their own rate in a nurturing and loving environment.
The Primary Division includes levels 1-3 in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary. The primary levels are extremely important as this division includes the beginning levels for learning dance technique in the different genres. All students begin their training in level 1. Students progress through these levels at different rates. Many spend two years or more in one level, while the mind and body are learning to work together. When the student has mastered the technique appropriate for each level and their body is strong enough, the teacher along with the Director will move the student to the next level. Advancement is based on ability, not age. Ballet classes will learn the basic ballet positions, then progression of a ballet barre and the French vocabulary of which all ballet steps are defined.
The Company/Pre-professional division is designed for dancers that are serious about their art, want the opportunity to perform more and desire to pursue dance beyond the high school years.
The Teen/Adult Division includes all levels of dance classes for dancers ages 13 plus for the recreational students as well as those with professional aspirations.
